97 jeep cherokee overheating and no cab heat????
I have a 97 cherokee 4l ac it overheated the other day i had a cracked rad i replace it and thermostat and every thing seemed ok except the heat in cab was not as hot as before then a couple of days later it overheated again(each time as soon as it overheated i shut it down right away now when it overheats i shut it down for no more than a minute or two and everything seems fine it does not seem to be drawing water from the overflow bottle(hose is not blocked nor is bottle cleaned and reinstalled)I have flushed heatercore not blocked. any ideas???
you can try to replace the thermostat for maintenance reasons, but i think your problem is you have an air pocket in the cooling system. the heater hoses are higher the the fill neck on the radiator, so the air doesn’t get bled out. you can try lifting the front of the vehicle a couple feet or try removing the highest heater hose or bypass hose and fill from there. then reattach and run vehicle to see if it worked. i haven’t worked on jeep for a few years, but remember bleeding them is a real pain in the butt.
